However, five years ago, Mantang Village, which has jurisdiction over 11 natural villages with a total of 920 households and 2,890 villagers, was a provincial-level poor village.

 

With the help of the support team assigned by the superior government, Mantang Village emerged from poverty by the end of 2018 through unremitting efforts. But the cadres and the villagers didn’t slacken their efforts after that. In 2020, Li Baihua returned to the hometown and led villagers to develop industries.

 

 

Driven by the goals it set, Mantang Village vigorously developed grain industry and characteristic orchards to improve the “blood-making” capacity of its collective economy.

 

Since 2020, Mantang Village has transferred land to plant 460 mu (about 30.7 hectares) of red grapefruit, which was expected to increase the collective income of the village by more than 200,000 yuan.

 

 

The cooperative mode of “village collective + farmer household + cooperative + economic expert” has been adopted to utilize the forest resources in the village and develop the characteristic fruit planting like navel orange, which has not only increased the collective economic income of the village but also provided jobs for more than 150 villagers.

 

The village also plans to plant oil tea, Siraitia Grosvenorii, jade bamboo and so on, and strives to achieve the annual collective economic income of 500,000 yuan, leading more villagers to prosperity.
