Recently, there was a busy farming scene in the hundred acres of farmland in Gufutang Village, Xiyao Town, Linwu County, where rotary cultivators shuttled back and forth, machine operators bent over to check the soil, and more than 60 villagers transplanted seedlings in the rain.
In recent years, due to the gradual growth in the number of migrant workers, the abandoned farmland in the village has increased year by year. In order to protect arable land and stabilize the grain planting area, the village Party branch and village committee have convened villagers' discussions for many times. After full investigation and discussion, the villagers' assembly unanimously decided to revitalize the "dormant" land resources and vigorously develop the rice breeding industry.
Since this year, led by the village working team and the village Party branch, the village has established a professional cooperative, adopted the "cooperative + company + farmer" business model, and invested more than 300,000 yuan to transfer nearly 33 acres of cultivated land.
At present, Gufutang Village has completed the disposal of nearly 16 acres of abandoned field, repaired canals and ridges, and built new tractor roads. The preliminary work has led to the employment of nearly 800 people in the surrounding villages. Now, seedling transplanting has been basically completed for about 33-acre abandoned farmland. The once abandoned farmland has turned into green fields again.
