The reservoir is a medium-sized water hydraulic project with comprehensive functions such as flood control, irrigation and water supply.

 

In recent years, Guiyang County has remained committed to the ecological development.

 

First, it designated the reservoir area and rain catchment area as a water source protection zone and carried out a comprehensive inspection and remediation in the protection zone.

 

Second, trees were planted and more than 100 signs reading “Water Protection Zone” were erected around the reservoir.

Third, the protective fences were built and the video surveillance system and loudspeakers were installed around the reservoir for promotion of water protection and monitoring. 

 

The staff patrol the reservoir every day and prohibit outsiders from entering the reservoir area and other acts that may pollute the water. They will also clean up the waste floating on the water on a regular basis to keep it clean.
