2022-08-12

On August 6, the reporter came to the Shazhou Yao Village of Rucheng County, Chenzhou City, where the revolutionary story of “Half a Quilt” took place.

“Six Taught” helps spread civilized conduct

In the special exhibition hall of “Half a Quilt”, students from Furong School of Shazhou Yao Village tell the revolutionary story of “Half a Quilt” to tourists.

The revolutionary stories and revolutionary traditions should be passed down from generation to generation. Shazhou Yao Village considers the inheritance of revolutionary tradition as an important part to promote better social conducts in the new era and organizes revolutionary publicity groups featuring “Six Taught”, with Party lectures taught by Party members, policies taught by officials, theories taught by specialists, technologies taught by professionals, changes taught by villagers and exemplary deeds taught by role models.

Nowadays, the scene of publicizing and recording revolutionary deeds is common. The volunteers in the publicity groups teach techniques while working in the daytime, and communicate with villagers to solve their problems at night.

In order to further enhance the ethos, folk customs and ideas in Shazhou Yao Village, it has also established night schools and bases for studying literature and calligraphy, and launched activities like night classes, reading classes, story-telling sessions and speech contests. The National Patriotism Education Demonstration Base, National Women’s Patriotism Education Base and National Adolescent Education Base have successively settled in this village.

“Red Stewards” help improve civilized conduct

Shazhou Yao Village gives full play to the dominant role of the masses and launches volunteer service activities, so as to make everyone practice better social conducts.

In recent years, Shazhou Yao Village has set up village councils, morality appraisal committee, public security association and role model association, and also established model party members and youth volunteer service teams. The villagers call them “Red Stewards”.

The village also promotes better social conducts through launching activities to select out role models, service stars and civilized families.
