11 cities achieve good air quality in July

In July, the average number of good air days accounted for 99.3% in 14 cities of Hunan Province, of which 11 cities achieved all days with good air quality.

 

Hunan Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment released news on August 25 that compared with the same period last year, Hunan Province’s average good air quality days ratio rose by 0.5 percentage points.

 

This year, air quality has been further improved throughout Hunan Province.
 
According to the Hunan Provincial Ecological and Environmental Monitoring Center, in July, Hunan Province’s average PM2.5 concentration fell by 11.8% year-on-year.
 
The average PM10 concentration fell by 20.0% year-on-year. The average ozone concentration saw a drop of 3.3% year-on-year, and the average nitrogen dioxide concentration dropped by 16.7% year-on-year.
 
Overall, Hunan has seen no moderate or higher air pollution. The proportion of good air days in Changsha City, Hengyang City, Shaoyang City, Yueyang City, Zhangjiajie City, Yiyang City, Chenzhou City, Yongzhou City, Huaihua City, Loudi City and Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture all reached 100%.
 
According to the comprehensive index evaluation of urban ambient air quality, the “top three” areas are Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture, Zhangjiajie City, Yongzhou City, while Xiangtan City, Yueyang City and Chenzhou City lagged behind.
