At the postal express stations in Gaowan Village of Zixing County, Chenzhou City, boxes of yellow peaches will be sent nationwide by express delivery. With special taste and good quality, the yellow peach attracts many repeat customers who order fruits through channels like e-commerce platforms and Wechat.
Early in the morning, the local fruit growers transport fresh yellow peaches to the stations for weighing, packing and waybill pasting, and then the peaches will be sent to places across China.
“It was inconvenient for us to post fruits, but now postal agencies are available in our village, so that yellow peaches can be sent out in the morning once we pick them up,” said Zhu Fangyi, a villager in Gaowan Village, Chukou Township.
In early years, the local fruits were transported in wharfs or designated places and then purchased by fruit merchants in low price, and thus the income of fruit growers was not high.
However, today there are postal express stations in Gaowan Village that enable customers to receive the goods in a few days, and villagers working outside also help promote the fruits by WeChat Moments, creating a promising sale prospect.
“The fruits delivered by express service can reach 2,500 to 3,000 kilograms at most a day, and we hope more people will learn e-commerce to promote fruit sales,” says a villager named Huang Xuejin.
Taking the opportunity of rural revitalization, Chukou strives to develop yellow peach industry. The yellow peach covers an area of 300 mu (20 hectares) with an annual output value of 2.7 million yuan, helping growers increase their income by more than 3,000 yuan.
