Hunan’s logistics sector saw a steadily growing demand and maintained steady operations in the first half of 2022, according to the data from the Development and Reform Commission of Hunan Province.
The total value of social logistics during the period rose by 4.4% year on year to more than 6.4 trillion yuan. The total logistics revenue was 227.01 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.0%.
In terms of manufacturing logistics, the added value of high-tech manufacturing enterprises above the designated size increased by 29.3% year on year and accounted for 13.4% of the industrial added value above the designated size.
As for e-commerce logistics, Hunan’s online retail sales reached 114.87 billion yuan, an increase of 9.3%. The online sales of physical commodities grew by 12.8%. The rapid development of online consumption boosted the growth of the courier sector.
From January to June, Hunan had handled 1.03 billion parcels, a year-on-year increase of 21.4%. The courier service revenue amounted to 8.28 billion yuan, up 11.6% year on year.
In terms of international logistics demand, 539 China-Europe freight trains were operated in the first half of this year, carrying goods worth 1.47 billion U.S. dollars. Among them, a total of 518 trains loaded with goods worth 1.37 billion U.S. dollars departed from Changsha, with a year-on-year increase of 40%.
Huaihua International Land Port had operated 52 trains for China-Laos freight train service and the rail-sea intermodal transport service. The goods delivered via China-Laos freight trains and the rail-sea intermodal transport service reached 5902.3 tons and 53,284.3 tons respectively, showing obvious growth in both quantity and quality of freight train service.
Chenglingji Port in Yueyang had handled 369,000 TEUs during that period, rising by 20% year on year. Among them, 1.98 million tons of goods were for foreign trade, increasing by 9.3% year on year.
