The heroic deeds of Ye Wenbing and Chen Anhua are as followed. As the weather in Chenzhou was unusually scorching on July 30, 2022, the transformer at the entrance of Food Processing Market on East Luoxian Road in Beihu District caught fire after a series of explosions.

 

With the explosions and the spread of fire, the car below the transformer was likely to burn out and ignite a bigger fire. The crowd of onlookers, frightened by the fire and the danger of electric leakage, all stayed away.

 

Ye Wenbing who was napping in the food store on the opposite side of the road was awakened by the sound of the explosions. Carrying two fire extinguishers, he rushed to the transformer to put out the fire. As the transformer was still not disconnected, the fire spread so faster that two fire extinguishers could not completely extinguish the blaze.

 

At this time, Chen An’hua who was in the pharmacy across the street to buy drugs also found the fire. He saw the last fire extinguisher in the hands of Ye Wenbing almost used up, while the fire was still very fierce.

 

Chen An’hua shouted at the crowd of onlookers, “hurry up and take the fire extinguisher!” At the same time, he ran to the drugstore to bring up two fire extinguishers quickly and rushed to the transformer. He joined efforts with Ye Wenbing to put out the fire.

 

Other nearby merchants also picked up their fire extinguishers to join them. The fire was controlled finally. The fire brigade and other professional rescue teams quickly came to disconnect the electrical switch and put out the remaining fire.

 

On September 14, 2022, Ye Wenbing and Chen An’hua were recognized as  justice-upholding volunteers in accordance with the law.
