Zixing has a unique geographical location and a hundred-year history of orange cultivation. The oranges produced here are juicy and sweet, with the fragrance of honey and an average sugar degree of 14% to 16%.

 

 

 

As of 2021, Zixing’s orange planting area is more than 130,000 mu (about 8,666.66 hectares), with annual output of 250,000 tons and the annual output value of 1.14 billion yuan. The orange industry has become the main industry to help increase income.

 

Qingjiang Town is the largest orange production base in Zixing, with more than 12,000 orange farmers in the town and an annual net income of 265 million yuan, driving nearly 50,000 people to increase their income.

 

 

 

In 2020, Zixing City also invested 10 million yuan to set up Hunan Dongjiang Lake Ecological Fruit Company. Led by major agricultural enterprises, Qingjiang Town will become the orange production base for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Great Bay Area.

 

In recent years, " Dongjiang Lake Orange " has been sold all over the country, and to Russia, HK and Southeast Asian countries. It is a national GI product and won the gold award on Hunan (Chenzhou) Agricultural Fair.
