The Hunan pavilion covers 288 square meters and has two parts – opening-up achievements and platforms for opening up.

 

At the opening-up achievements area, a series of videos present Hunan’s progress in investment promotion, institutional innovation, and construction of platforms for opening up; a sand table shows Hunan’s advantageous geographical location on the transitional "belt" connecting the eastern coastal area with the central and the western regions and in the junction "zone" between the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Coastal Economic Belt; a cluster of data illustrates Hunan’s performance in platform and channel construction; and, a 100-photo wall visualizes Hunan’s opening-up progress and highlight moments in the past decade.

 

Construction machinery models of SANY and the China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, and coffee beans imported from Africa, are displayed at the pavilion, embodying Hunan’s fruitful efforts in building a hub of advanced manufacturing industry of national importance and a hub of reform and opening up in inland regions.

 

The area of the opening up showcases the significant platforms for opening up around the province, including the China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, ten national-level economic development zones, four cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones, and one processing trade industrial park.

 

A red Mobius band atop the Hunan pavilion implies that Hunan has unlimited potential to build itself into a hub of reform and open up in inland regions. The wave-shaped photo wall symbolizes that Hunan has been forging ahead to open up like rushing waves.
