The Hunan Federation of Trade Unions (HNFTU) announced on December 15 that it will jointly carry out a craftsmen training campaign for rural construction with the provincial housing and urban-rural development authority. It plans to hold 100 training classes provincewide to train 8,000 craftsmen for rural construction free of charge.
It is necessary to improve the vocational skills and comprehensive quality of rural construction craftsmen in Hunan Province, to implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, promote the revitalization of rural talents in Hunan Province, and further strengthen safe production.
HNFTU plans to provide free professional skills training for those who are 18 to 65 years old; are in good health; have a junior high school and above education or reach the vocational skill level of construction workers at or above junior high school; and, have more than 1 year of on-site construction experience in any type of work such as masonry, rebar, concrete, carpentry, plumber, and electrician.
The training courses include basic knowledge, skills, and practical trainings. The training hours are arranged according to the actual needs of various places, and there should be not less than 24 hours in principle.
Through training, rural construction craftsmen can master the knowledge on farm house construction policies and laws and regulations; engineering project management and farm house design; and, techniques on frame structure construction, decoration construction, and water, electricity and heating installation.
