Cao Zhiwang, who lives in Baitoushi Village, Yongxing County, has a severe  physical disability caused by an accidental fall from a height in his early years, and is basically bedridden and wheelchair bound.

After understanding the situation, the disabled persons’ federations of Yongxing County and Chenzhou City renovated his toilet and installed some basic facilities such as folding shower chair and safety handrails according to the actual situation. And a 1-meter wide cover plate was also installed over the drainage ditch in front of his house, which is accessible to the wheelchair. Thus, Cao Zhiwang is able to go to the toilet and take a shower by himself.
