The majestic and towering aqueduct, 50 meters long, is the only “pass” of the canal in the right irrigation area of Longhu Cave, Rucheng County.

 

The canal gushes out from the deep mountain of Longhu Cave in Jingpo Town. After passing through the aqueduct, it runs towards Daping, Quanshui, Tuqiao and other towns, with an irrigation area of more than 100,000 mu (about 6,666.7 hectares). This aqueduct is of great importance to local farmers.

 

 

Focusing on the goal of “resisting spring drought and ensuring spring irrigation”, Rucheng County has actively carried out the work of unblocking channel system, stabilizing water source, improving quality and efficiency of irrigation, so as to make the water flow directly to the fields, and effectively guarantee the irrigation demand of all kinds of farming.

 

Since last year, Rucheng County has implemented major water conservancy projects with an overall fund of 94.27 million yuan. In order to ensure that the construction of water conservancy and irrigation projects is completed on schedule, the county has promoted project construction effectively by strengthening supervision.

 

Other than that, it has planned to store water in advance to create strong conditions for spring irrigation. It has unified dispatching management to resist spring drought, scientifically regulated the water storage of key water sources, mountain ponds, reservoirs and other water projects in the whole county, and strictly implemented the planned water use by reasonably arranging the water use order.

 

When the water level of the reservoir is at or below the guaranteed irrigation supply level, power generation and ecological water diversion will be stopped. And the reservoirs with water supply function will be organized to reserve sufficient water supply for domestic use with the guidance of water conservation.
