“Today, 5,000 kg of grapes will be loaded onto fresh cold chain trucks and then transported to Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. I have been planting 15 mu (1 hectares) of Shine Muscat grapes since 2019. This year’s production has slightly decreased because of heavy rain. It’s estimated that the output will reach 20,000 kg, and the output value will exceed 200,000 yuan,” said Li Dongnan, a local grape grower.
The vines are covered with Shine Muscat grapes in a grape vineyard of Changcun Village, Yizhang County. Fruit farmers’ faces were filled with joy of harvest.
Changcun Village is located in a remote hilly area of the southwest of Yizhang County, with a subtropical monsoon climate and a forest coverage rate of 78%. With ample sunlight and fertile soil, the Shine Muscat grapes here are green and sweet, and are well received by consumers.
In recent years, the village has fully utilized the advantages of land sources, optimized agricultural planting structures, supported the development of planting industry, and helped rural residents become rich.
In 2023, the total area of various planting industries in the village exceeds over 7,000 mu (about 466.67 hectares), and more than 150 villagers are provided with job opportunities.
