Hunan's cultural and tourism market continued to boom during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays. According to data released by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, in the first three days of the holidays, 954 monitored units in the province received a total of over 7.99 million tourist trips, a year-on-year increase of 80.99%; and generated a revenue of 1.087 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 59.16%.
There were 346 tourist areas under monitoring, receiving a total of about 7.18 million tourist arrivals, an increase of 85.05% compared to the previous year, and generating a revenue of almost 994.56 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 63.76%.
Among them, 11 national 5A-level tourist attractions received about 1.65 million tourist trips, an increase of 39.6%; and generated revenue of about 503.54 million yuan, an increase of 46.59%.
127 4A-level tourist attractions received over 2.67 million tourist arrivals, an increase of 86.8%; and generated a revenue of about 273.63 million yuan, an increase of 79.35%.
The 204 tourist attractions at 3A-level or below registered strong performance, receiving more than 2.86 million visits, an increase of 125.39%, and generating a revenue of about 217.4 million yuan, an increase of 95.35%.
A total of 75 rural tourism areas received 556,500 visits, an increase of 68.83%, and generated a revenue of about 15.26 million yuan, an increase of 61.24%.
400 accommodation units received a total of 201,500 visits, an increase of 22.29%, and generated a revenue of about 90.05 million yuan, an increase of 24.23%. The cumulative room occupancy rate for monitored accommodation units was 83.06%.
Cultural venues were also popular among people. A total of 606,100 tourist trips were made at 208 cultural service units, an increase of 64.54% compared to the previous year.
Among them, 50 museums and memorial halls received 346,700 tourist arrivals, an increase of 69.05%; 90 libraries received 168,200 visits, an increase of 51.31%; and 68 cultural centers received 91,200 visits, an increase of 75.03%.
Among the monitored units, there were 207 new cultural and tourism businesses, which received a total of about 2.8 million visits, an increase of 97.167%, and achieved a total revenue of more than 291.23 million yuan, an increase of 84.79%.
During the first three days of the holidays, Hunan's red tourism sector saw outstanding performance. According to statistics, 55 red tourism areas received more than 1.17 million tourist trips, an increase of 49.42%, and generated a revenue of about 129.83 million yuan, an increase of 110.35%.
