During the eight-day National Day holiday, Beihu District’s major tourist destinations experienced a surge in tourism consumption. The scenic spots, night-time cultural and tourism consumption areas, and leisure blocks, collectively welcomed 1.8862 million tourists, marking a 326% year-on-year increase. Additionally, the total tourism revenue reached 460 million yuan, up 291.25% year on year.
According to Xu Yuanfu, a staff working at the Yangtian Lake Grassland Scenic Area, Yangtian Lake Grassland experienced a surge in the number of visitors, ranking seventh in tourist reception volume and eighth in ticket revenue province-wide. The hotels and nearby homestay inns were almost booked up.
To enhance the travel experience for holidaymakers, the scenic area implemented various service measures, including extended opening hours, ticket discounts, and temporary parking lots, along with shuttle services to ensure smooth transportation for visitors.
“Finally, I came to Yangtian Lake. The alpine grassland is truly beautiful and picturesque,” exclaimed Ms. Hu, a tourist from Guangdong.
She mentioned that the Yangtian Lake Grassland not only offers breathtaking beauty but also a range of exciting activities, such as archery, grassland sledding, and playful interactions with cute animals, which brought her great travel experience.
In addition to the traditional tourist spots that were crowded with visitors, new and immersive cultural and tourism experiences gained immense popularity. Cultural and tourism consumption thrived, with more people, particularly young enthusiasts, exploring innovative formats and new scenes that offer immersive technology-based tours and artistic experiences in Beihu District.
“I experienced different games and explored the world of technology here. When I put on the VR glasses, I could witness the simulated sound and light representation of a rocket launch, including the breathtaking scenes of the rocket soaring into space and racing towards the vast universe. I really enjoyed my time here,” said a student Zhang Zongxu. This tech-filled journey has inspired his dreams, motivating him to study diligently and aspire to become a pilot in the future.
The artificial intelligence courses, agriculture learning, and stargazing camping programs at Chenzhou Yuanhengjia Scientific and Creative Research Base have all seen significant popularity. According to Tan Guoyong, the person in charge of the base, visitors have highly praised these programs.
Zhiqing Resort has also become a popular destination for tourists. Its rustic and elegant design, scenic landscapes, and diverse cultural experiences, such as “painting on walls” and “Kun opera performed in the Village”, have attracted many visitors who came to explore, take photos, and enjoy a unique cultural journey during the holiday.
It offers a unique combination of tranquility and a vibrant artistic atmosphere. It provides immersive art experiences and allows visitors to experience both technological research and learning while immersing themselves in the farming culture of southern Hunan. Due to its proximity to the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, it has attracted many out-of-town visitors during the National Day holiday.
Beihu District has introduced “Chenxin Service” stations in popular scenic spots to enhance the tourist experience. These stations provide dedicated personnel who offer on-site consultations, volunteer services, route planning, complaint handling, and other services to tourists.
