Chenzhou sets new tourism record

During the Mid-Autumn Day and National Day holiday, the scenic areas of Chenzhou City were flooded with tourists, and the reception situation of major scenic areas set a historical record. Gaoyi Ridge was rated by netizens nationwide as the third most visited scenic area in the country.

 

Gaoyi Ridge, Dongjiang Lake, Yangtian Lake, Yuhou Street and Chenzhou Changjuan Cultural and Tourism City were included in the top ten popular attractions in Hunan during the holiday.
 
Meanwhile, among the top 10 tourist areas with ticket revenue in Hunan, there are four in Chenzhou, namely Mangshan Scenic Area (Wuzhifeng), Dongjiang Lake, Gaoyi Ridge, and Yangtian Lake. 
 
As of 14:00 on October 6, the 35 tourist areas in Chenzhou City monitored by the provincial tourism statistics comprehensive platform for the Mid-Autumn and National Day holiday in 2023 had received 4.2597 million visitors, a year-on-year increase of 201.31%, with a revenue of 419.09 million yuan, up 130.49% year on year, and ticket revenue of 141.88 million yuan, increasing by 104.53% year on year.

Continuous effects of the Second Tourism Development Conference 
 
The Second Hunan Tourism Development Conference has created a strong atmosphere for tourism promotion in Chenzhou. The number of tourists in Chenzhou during the holiday grew rapidly, with a total of 4.2597 million visitors in 35 monitored tourist areas of the city, an increase of 201.31% year on year.
 
According to the mobile signal data on the smart cultural and tourism platform in Chenzhou, the number of tourists from outside Hunan exceeded 54% in the former seven days during the holiday, an increase of 24% compared to the summer vacation, which set a new record.
 
According to hotel booking data on the OTA, the booking volume in Chenzhou during the holiday this year ranked third in Hunan.

Robust growth of cultural tourism consumption 
 
The 35 tourist areas under monitoring had a revenue of 419.09 million yuan during the holiday, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 130.49%, and ticket revenue of 141.88 million yuan, up 104.53%.
 
The ticket revenue of the Mangshan Wuzhifeng Scenic Area, Dongjiang Lake Scenic Area, Gaoyi Ridge Scenic Area, and Yangtian Lake Scenic Area ranked second, third, 5th, and 8th in Hunan respectively.
 
The occupancy rates of major homestays in Yizhang County and Yongxing Danshan Bishui Rural Tourism Co., Ltd. (Dongtou Wild Ferry) were all 100%, showing the vitality and potential of the tourism market in Chenzhou City.

Rapid development of night tour economy
 
The Yuhou Street Historical and Cultural Block held a series of activities, and received a total of 495,000 tourists, a year-on-year increase of 573.88%.
 
With the upgrading of the Beihu Ever-bright cultural and tourism consumption gathering area, the commercial district of Beihu Park became a new landmark for citizens and tourists. During the holiday, it received a total of 175,900 tourists, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 199.35%, with a revenue of 32.108 million yuan, up 759.65% year on year.

Picturesque landscape
 
The Dongjiang Lake Scenic Area received a total of 504,900 tourists, an increase of 93.38% year on year, and a revenue of 100,954,400 yuan, a growth of 105.66% year on year.
 
From October 1 to 3, the large-scale landscape live-action show “Beautiful Cuijiang River” was held at the Feitian Mountain Performance Center, attracting over 6,000 tourists.
 
The “Chenzhou Water World” in Zixing City continued to be open for free.
 
The Dongjiang Lake Scenic Area held activities such as Yao Song duet at the Dongjiang Yage Pier.
 
The Wayaoping Historical and Cultural Block, located in the Xihe Scenic Belt, became Internet-famous. During the holiday, immersive performance programs and ancient markets attracted many tourists. 
 
The Rucheng Hot Spring Resort received a total of 78,000 people, an increase of 139.52% year on year.

Popular Red culture
 
The Shazhou Red Tourist Area received 94,300 tourists, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 34.43%, with a revenue of 30.5913 million yuan, a rise of 29.15%. The Long March Cultural Exhibition and Inheritance Hall has become a popular new Red landmark for tourists.
 
711 Time Town held a series of activities like mining area cultural drama exhibition, the interaction of intangible cultural heritage and folk customs, and an immersive performance experience, with a tourist flow of over 100,000 people.

Attractive cultural tour
 
Changjuan Cultural and Tourism City held the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Fair, and received 54,300 tourists, a cumulative year-on-year growth of 247.57%, as well as operating revenue of 1.3124 million yuan, rising 163.43% year on year.
 
The newly opened Chenzhou Museum exhibited 700 more cultural relics compared to last year, with an average daily flow of 7,000 people and a maximum of 16,000 people. A “Space Journey” themed hall was opened in the newly built Science and Technology Museum. They jointly became a popular destination for parent-child travel.
 
All counties, cities, and scenic areas showcased regional characteristics and cultural charm through colorful cultural and tourism activities.

Self-drive and family tour
 
The parking lots of main scenic areas in Chenzhou were filled with self-drive cars, and families could also be seen in scenic areas.
 
According to major scenic areas such as Dongjiang Lake and Gaoyi Ridge, the tourists of self-drive and family tours accounted for over 60% of the total number, while the visitors for self-drive tours in the Yangtian Lake Scenic Area accounted for over 90%. This has also made self-drive and family tours mainstream trends in the tourism market during the holiday this year.
 
Excellent services
 
Chenzhou City launched a major commitment activity for tourism related enterprises, and implemented different policies in different scenic areas.
 
Volunteers provided free tourism consultation, explanations, drinking water, wheelchairs, stroller borrowing, emergency broadcasting, and other convenient services for tourists. Medical rescue personnel and blue sky rescue teams were on standby at all times.
 
All scenic areas promptly and properly handled various emergencies and tourist complaints. Beihu District provided tourists with a batch of cultural, tourism, and creative products.
 
Chenzhou joined various forces like urban management, transportation, fire protection, and catering, to provide prime services for tourists, and a new trend was formed in Chenzhou where everyone was a waiter, tourism publicist, and tourism guide.
