In some villages of Mangshan Yao Township, Yizhang County, local Yao people are busy picking spring tea leaves.
Yong’an Village is the closest village to the Mangshan Scenic Area and many tea gardens are just next to the scenic area. Many tourists will take photos in the tea plantation of villagers when entering the scenic spot, enjoying the scenery of the tea garden and experiencing the joy of picking.
The high altitude, fertile land and pleasant climate in Yong’an Village make it suitable for tea cultivation. Considering the favorable locations of tea gardens, many tea farmers plan to increase investment to promote the integrated development of tea culture and tourism.
“Relying on the beautiful tea garden scenery, we will build entertainment projects like space capsules, starry sky rooms, and set up a sci-fi themed camping base,” said a head of a tea base, adding that they would retain tourists and enrich the villagers through integration of tea tourism and new business forms.
In recent years, based on its advantageous ecological resources and industrial development goals, the township government has implemented the development idea of promoting tea industry through quality, brands and tourism with a development model involving in the village committee, companies, bases and farmers.
Now, the township planted over 8,000 mu (533.33 hectares) of tea trees, providing job opportunities for over 6,000 people. The booming tea industry has injected continuous momentum into rural revitalization.
