Recently, villagers were busy fertilizing and weeding in a monk fruit base of Shimen Village, Shiqiao Town, Jiahe County.
The monk fruit planting base covering an area of over 400 mu (26.67 hectares) built in January 2022 has become a bright local brand. It’s expected that the income per mu (0.067 hectares) can reach 9,000 yuan or more, which can bring tangible benefits to villagers.
Villagers were also busy in a black fungus planting base of Shixian Village.
Relying on its unique advantages in forestry resources, the village began to develop the black fungus planting industry from October, 2021.
After several years of development, the rising black fungus industry has solved the employment problem of idle labors in local areas, and increased considerable income for the village collective.
The monk fruit and black fungus planting bases in Shiqiao Town have driven the rapid growth of the local economy and brought many job opportunities for villagers to achieve stable income growth at their doorsteps.
At the same time, the renovation projects of old villages around the town are also in full swing, injecting new vitality into the comprehensive development of the countryside. As the key villages for renovation, Zhonghuashan Village and Xianrenqiao Village have taken on a new look after a series of measures taken like renovating old houses, hardening roads and improving the environment.
At the same time, the whole town has also paid attention to the exploration and inheritance of cultural resources. It built cultural squares and cultural wall to revitalize the rural culture.
Near the filming site of the movie “Furong Ferry” in Xianrenqiao Village, there is a cultural wall to showcase the local history, culture and traditional customs, making the village a popular tourist attraction.
