In order to build a characteristic industry in Dasi Village, more than 500 mu (about 33.33 hectares) of land were transferred to Hunan Dazilian Agriculture Co., Ltd. for planting Xianglian lotus. 

 

“Xianglian lotus is a perennial aquatic herbaceous plant in the water lily family. It enters the flowering period in June and the lotus seeds can be picked from mid-July to the end of October. The Xianglian planting base in Dashi Village can provide 20 job opportunities for local villagers and increase their income by 300,000 yuan as well as the village collective economy of 40,000 yuan,” said Liu Jiaguang, head of the company.

 

 

Lotus flowers with different postures are blooming in the base, with petals of different colors such as milky white, light pink, and deep red, attracting many tourists. 

 

“We can enjoy the beautiful summer scenery in the lotus pond and feel some coolness in the scorching summer,” said a tourist from the urban area of Chenzhou City.
