In recent days, it’s scorching in most areas of the southern China. Guidong County, with an average summer temperature of 23 ℃, rich tourism products, and thoughtful services, has become a good place for many tourists to enjoy coolness.
Visitors admire the scenery, take photos, and enjoy coolness at Jiayunfu Homestay Inn of Jindong Village, Oujiang Town, Guidong County, with an average altitude of 1,100 meters.
Jiayunfu Homestay Inn is run by Wang Liying, a local villager. She has converted her 15 private rooms into guest rooms. This year, she has received more than 30 tourists, most of whom are repeat customers from Changsha, Hengyang, Zhuzhou, and other places. Some have stayed here for three consecutive years and now become as close as family.
“We feel at home here. We can get whatever we want. It feels like a warm big family,” said a tourist from Changsha.
“I have been running the homestay inn for three years, with an annual income of about 120,000 yuan,” said Wang Liying.
Guidong County has the average altitude of 900 meters, with a forest coverage rate of 81.97%. Good ecological environment and cool climate make it very suitable for people to escape summer heat. It is deeply loved by tourists from other places.
In recent years, Guidong County has spared no effort to upgrade urban and rural roads, parking lots, public toilets, sewage treatment plants and other infrastructure, enhance the living environment throughout the county, and improve the service level of tourism workers. It has created six key homestay villages as well as high-end homestay inns such as Shisansu, Jinshanmangu, and Zhiqing Xiaozhai, to meet the needs of different customer groups.
At the same time, it has worked to promote the construction of scenic areas such as Wanyang Mountain, Longxi Waterfall, and Qing’e Mountain, and enrich tourism products, in a bid to turn mountainous areas into scenic spots.
At present, there are nearly 1,000 homestay inns in Guidong County, with more than 26,000 beds. As of July 22, the homestay inns have received more than 17,300 tourists, and the occupancy rate of key homestay villages such as Qingzhu, Jindong, and Qiuli has reached 90%.
