In recent years, Chengping Township in Anren County has made efforts to build rural workshops according to local conditions, in a bid to help villagers achieve employment and boost their income.
Recently, dozens of workers are busy sewing handbags and suitcases with electric sewing machines at the rural revitalization workshop of Shuangxi Village in Chengping Township.
The workshop was established in 2023 through cooperation with Umigo Technology. At present, there are more than 20 sewing machines in the workshop, and the handbags and bags produced are sold to supermarkets at home and abroad through enterprise intermediaries.
Li Waihua, Party secretary of Shuangxi Village, said that the workshop needs to complete the production of about 30,000 bags per year, with an annual output value of more than 6 million yuan, providing more than 30 local villagers with jobs, and increasing the monthly income per capita by more than 3,000 yuan.
“It’s expected that by 2025, the workshop will be able to process 60,000 bags and offer jobs to 50 villagers in the surrounding areas, increasing income of the village collective and villagers,” said Li Waihua.
