“Every year, nearly 500 kilograms of fish can be harvested. Fish has been raised for a long time, so each one can weigh over 6 kilograms,” said Huang Taohui. 

 

 

He has been raising fish since 1997. The water of the fish pond is mountain spring water, and the fish feeds on green grass and tender corn leaves. Due to the good quality, the fish they catch at the end of each year can be sold out locally, and regular customers come to purchase it from time to time.

 

 

Catching fish at the end of the year is a traditional local custom, which symbolizes a bountiful harvest for the coming year. “Next year, I plan to build a cold storage to transport fresh fish to farther places, so that more people can eat my fish,” said Huang Taohui.
