These two have been included among the first batch of ten typical cases of rural revitalization in Hunan Province.

 

At the same time, Chenzhou ranked first among Class-1 cities of Hunan for its comprehensive rural revitalization work.

 

In 2024, Chenzhou City achieved significant results in promoting comprehensive rural revitalization, developing modern agricultural industries, improving grain production, and strengthening the construction of agricultural water conservancy infrastructure.

 

It has established a normalized scheduling mechanism, including weekly scheduling, monthly summary, and quarterly analysis. Through measures such as problem assignment, warning, notification, and on-site supervision, all tasks have been effectively promoted and implemented.

 

Among 14,221 households monitored for poverty prevention in the city, 7,897 households have been prevented from returning to poverty. Suxian District has been selected as a pilot for the integration of the national “two policies”. In 2024, despite multiple natural disasters, no person in the city returned to poverty due to the disasters.

 

 

Chenzhou has built a solid foundation for farmland protection. It has investigated 4,615.75 mu (about 307.72 hectares) of abandoned farmland and reduced the non-grain  farmland to 97,200 mu (about 6,480 hectares) from 176,600 mu (about 11,773.33 hectares). The safe utilization rate of polluted farmland in the city has reached 92.84%, and the qualified rate of agricultural products in safe utilization areas has reached 90%.

 

Anren rice is indispensable for Chenzhou people on their dining tables. As an important grain production area in Hunan, Anren County has expanded the influence of Anren rice.

 

Chenzhou has introduced multiple measures and created 486 demonstration areas for grain production. It has planted 4.7525 million mu (about 316,833.33 hectares) of rice and achieved the output of 1.9129 million tons, exceeding the provincial target for grain production.

 

Chenzhou has promoted the model of “centralized slaughter in main production areas, full chain cold chain distribution, and cold fresh sales in main sales areas” throughout the city to promote the integrated supply of meat products in urban and rural areas, and strengthen the slaughter industry.

 

 

It has also diversified the supply of agricultural products to enrich the food varieties on dining tables of Chenzhou people.

 

Chenzhou has planted 1.9504 million mu (about 130,026.67 hectares) of vegetables, with a yield of 3.702 million tons. There are 238 “vegetable basket” bases for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, ranking second in China. 1.5794 million mu (about 105,293.33 hectares) of fruits have been planted, with a yield of 1.489 million tons. The numbers of beef cattle, poultry, and poultry eggs sold in the city increased by 5.36%, 29.57%, and 88.23% respectively. There are 420,100 mu (about 28,006.67 hectares) of aquaculture, with an expected output of 122,800 tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.5%.

 

The concentrated and contiguous farmlands, with unobstructed farm tracks and water channels, increase agricutural output, thanks to the widespread promotion of high-standard farmland.

 

The 325,400-mu (about 21,693.33 hectares) high-standard farmland construction project has been fully completed. In 2024, 240,700-mu (about 16,046.67 hectares) high-standard farmland was newly built and reconstructed, among which, 132,000 mu (8,800 hectares) of additional treasury bond issuance project was completed, and it is expected to increase output by 100 kilograms per mu (about 0.067 hectare) after being put into use. A total of 3.0203 million mu (about 201,353.33 hectares) of high-standard farmland has been built, accounting for 82.82% of the city’s arable land area, effectively improving grain production capacity.

 

Mechanization is an effective way to improve efficiency.

 

 

Chenzhou has added 446 new seedling planting and throwing machines, established 890,000 square meters of seedling cultivation facilities, and completed the 478,000- mu (about 31,866.67 hectares) Beidou monitoring operation area through seedling planting and throwing machines, an increase of 91% compared to last year. The comprehensive mechanization of rice production has achieved significant results, with a comprehensive mechanization rate of 61.48% for crop cultivation and harvest in 2024, up 3.2%.

 

The comprehensive mechanization rate of rice cultivation and harvesting hit 85.30%, an increase of 4.3%. Anren County has seen an annual increase of 15,000 mu (1,000 hectares) in machine seedling throwing, with an average annual operation volume of over 700 mu (about 46.67 hectares) per machine, ranking first among county-level cities in China.

 

Meanwhile, Chenzhou has continued efforts to improve the agricultural socialized service system. The total task of agricultural socialized services was 393,290 mu (about 26,219.33 hectares) of farmland in 2024, while 488,300 mu (about 32,553.33 hectares) of farmland has been completed, with a completion rate of 124.15%. 

 

Chenzhou has established 6 pilot counties for socialized agricultural production services in the province, 1 national innovation pilot county, and 10 provincial regional service centers.

 

Recently, at the 2024 Regional Agricultural Brand Annual Ceremony, the agricultural brand “Chenpin Chenwei” was once again included among the Top 100 of 2024 China Regional Agricultural Brand Influence Index, ranking 24th nationwide.

 

Chenzhou has carried out the construction of the “Chenpin Chenwei” brand regional public brand plus regional brand, enterprise brand, and local characteristic agricultural product brand system. At present, there are 16regional public brands of agricultural products, 52 local characteristic agricultural product brands, and 154 well-known enterprise brands. The number of vegetable brands authorized by “Xiangjiangyuan” and brands authorized by “Xiangganhong” ranks first and second in the province respectively.

 

Chenzhou has prioritized the high-quality development of traditional agricultural product processing industries in building the “1221” modern industrial system. It has issued the “Implementation Plan for Accelerating the Construction of Chenzhou Agricultural Product Processing Industry System” and formulated the “Chenzhou Agricultural Product Processing Industry Development Plan (2024-2027)”.

 

The agricultural industry has seen obvious development.

 

Chenzhou has promoted the upgrading of 7 existing agricultural product processing parks and added Baifu and Zhanxiang agricultural product processing parks. In 2024, 2 national and 18 provincial-level agricultural industrialization leading enterprises have been added. 3 enterprises were included among the Top 500 Chinese Agricultural Enterprises. Dongjiang Fish Group was listed among the Top 20 enterprises in Chinese Agricultural and Aquatic Industry. There was one national advantageous characteristic industry cluster and one strong agricultural industry town. Chenzhou also had a national modern agricultural industrial park.
