It was learned from Chenzhou Development and Reform Committee that Chenzhou city, Jiahe county and Rucheng county were enrolled into 2nd batch of circular economy demonstration city of Hunan province.

In recent years, Chenzhou city took active actions on carrying national and Hunan provincial circular economy pilot work. Till the end of January, there are 4 national level pilots, 2 Hunan provincial level pilots, 2 industrial park circular economy demonstrations and pilots, and 7 enterprise pilots (including one low-carbon enterprise pilot and 6 circular economy demonstration enterprises). Pilot and demonstration work on the recycling of rare and precious metals, recycling system of renewable resources, transformation of resources-exhausted city, circular reconstruction of industrial park, and etc. were carried out in Chenzhou city. Sound achievements were gained on pilot work, such as the model of “no-ore mining”was created by Yongxing county, the transformation model of resource-exhausted city was explored by Zixing city, recycling system of renewable resources was preliminary established, and etc. All of those greatly helped to lay solid foundation for Chenzhou city’s establishment of Hunan provincial circular economy demonstration city.

Once become the 2nd batch circular economy demonstration city (county) of Hunan province, Chenzhou city, Jiahe county and Rucheng county would give priority for the reduction, and promote clean production and green consumption; would focus on upgrading output capacity of resources and mainly improve clean of cycling industry of rare and precious metals and circulation of non-ferrous metals selection and smelting; would keep the concept of circular economy to carry out undertaking industrial transfer with the method of expanding chain; would promote the transformation development of resource-exhausted areas and cultivate more emerging industries; would seize the chance of pilot construction of low-carbon city to promote the circular and greening development of city; would establish a full-covering system of recycling utilization for resources, accelerate the transformation of economy development, and fully promote the circular economy development of Chenzhou city.
