2015-06-25

When reporters arrived at Suoshiqiao public bus hub on June 23, 2015, the public buses were being operated well in the newly built parking lot. It was introduced that Suoshiqiao public bus hub was one of the 8 new public bus terminals of Chenzhou city covered with 22.09million yuan investments. It is with 6500 square meters parking space which is capable to park 40 public buses there. The project was launched in October, 2013 and was finished in this May. Now, it was placed to operation.

It was learned that there are 1040 public buses being operated in Chenzhou city. But just 5 public bus terminals with about 35,974square meters parking space available there, which is 173,746square meters less than required capacity. Now, the problem lacking of parking space for the public bus is severe in Chenzhou city. Some public buses can only be parked in some roads which cause some risk for both transportation and safety.

In order to relieve the pressure of parking space for public buses, Chenzhou city enhanced the public bus terminals construction based on the concepts of " city development, public bus first". Eight new public bus terminals covered with 300million yuan were newly planned to be built in Chenzhou city. The financing work was operated by Chenzhou Transportation Investment Company, while construction work was operated by Chenzhou Public Bus Company. Currently, 3 of the 8 new terminals have been proceeded to the construction step, and over 33million yuan has been finished. Suoshiqiao hub station was placed to operation in this June. Gaobi and Wuguang west hub were being under construction and were estimated to be placed to operation on October 1,2015. All other terminals were on the process of submission and all were estimated to be started in this year and finished in 2018. Once all terminals finished, they would be greatly helpful to promote the perfection of city function and urbanization development of Chenzhou city.
