It was learned that in the afternoon of May 19, 2015, Qu Hai- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou City met Wu Hulu-Honorary President of Sino-South Africa Economic Exchange Association of South Africa and Vice-governor of Guateng Province of South Africa and his team which came to attend the 3rd China (Hunan) International Mineral & Gem Show. Qu expressed the willingness to carry out more cooperation with South Africa and reach more win-win achievements.

Guateng Province which is a center of economic activities and important gold producing place of South Africa is honored as “place of gold”.

Qu Hai warmly welcomed the guests. He said South Africa is a beautiful and fertile country which has close cultural and economic communication with Chenzhou city. Thanks to the frequent exchanges of culture and economy, precious friendship was established between Chenzhou and South Africa people.

Qu Hai presented brief introduction of Chenzhou to the guests. Qu said Chenzhou city is with long history, advantageous location, convenient transportation, abundant resource and beautiful ecology, and it is an important window of Hunan province’s opening and is in the frontline of Hunan province’s reform and opening up. Currently, Chenzhou city is in a critical period of rapid development that income, living quality, purchasing capacity and material & cultural needs are being upgraded day by day. Chenzhou city would well seize the chance of holding the mineral show to expand opening, extend international communication, and reach more cooperation on mining and processing of mineral & gem, tourism, exhibition, industrial transfer, and etc. It aimed to cultivate exhibition industry and gem industry to be new economic increasing point.

Qu Hai stated that Guateng Province is also with abundant natural resources. He hoped more communications on science knowledge, propaganda, culture, and etc. can be reached between both parties to upgrade the citizens’ awareness on caring, cherishing and protecting resources. Qu also expressed the willingness to establish sister cities relationship with Kimberly city of Northern Cape Province of South Africa and carry out long-term communications on economy, culture, talents, and etc.

Wu Hulu who visited Chenzhou city for the first time was impressed by its beauty and passion. He stated that there are some similarities for both Guateng Province and Chenzhou city on resource, transportation, and other aspects, so there are great potentiality and expectation for further cooperation and development between both parties. He hoped to carry out more cooperation with Chenzhou city on gem industry, education, and etc.

Monucea- Mayor of Kimberly City who visited Chenzhou city with Wu Hulu and his team stated that Kimberly city was willing to sign long-term cooperation agreement with Chenzhou city to carry out deep communication and cooperation together.
Both two parties gave some souvenirs to each other.

Some municipal leaders of Chenzhou city attended the conference.
