It was reported that Rucheng Tianzhuang Farmers’ Professional Cooperative Association which was the third one available in Rucheng county was inaugurated on December 5, 2014. This kind of association upgraded farmers’ cooperatives from “family union” to “cooperative union”, which would help to integrate rural resources to develop modern rural economy and serve for the farmers, and then forge the upgrading version of rural economy.

In recent years, Rucheng county placed close attention on the improvement of farmers’ cooperatives to upgrade the organizational degree of the farmers, increase the farmers’ income and establish modern agriculture. It focused on the two foundations of “increase of quantity and upgrading of quality” to fully implement some favorable policies as financial support, tax deduction and exemption, technology training, and etc., to actively support and cultivate the farmers’ professional cooperatives, to operate the industrial operation model of “farmers+ professional cooperatives+ enterprises”, and guide farmers to handle the professional production on the basis of market demands. All of those measures helped to improve series professional cooperatives with large scale, regulated management, leading power and brand operation, such as Xuri vegetable of Luyang town, Yongxing farming and breeding of Tianzhuang town, Xufeng farming and breeding of Yongfeng town, Jinpeng edible mushrooms of Tuqiao, dendrobium plantation of Sanjiangkou, and etc. The county worked together with the direct marketing center of agricultural products of Chenzhou city to provide free marketing channel to all farmers. Rucheng county’s farmers’ professional cooperatives were transformed from quantity increasing to quality upgrading by handling some measures as guidance, checking, evaluation, rating, training, and etc., which helped to improve the farmers’ professional cooperatives to be with standard base, regulated management, brand marketing, and scaled production.

Currently, there are 287 farmers’professional cooperatives available in Rucheng county, covering 16,000 members and 39,100 farmers families. 45,000mu different production bases were jointed together. 29.13million yuan was placed on purchasing the means of production. The total marketing volume was amounted to 230million yuan, which helped to increase over 500yuan income for each member.
