2024-02-28

The production manager Qiu Faxue and the installation worker were busy assembling and debugging tea processing equipment in a tea production workshop of Qingquan Town, Guidong County on February 20. He happily said: “This year’s first order was 200 tons, and we need to ensure that equipment is put into production before the spring tea picking season arrives.”

To further do a good job in attracting investment and introduce more merchants to invest and develop in Guidong County, the town government has worked to promote project construction and investment attraction. This will add new momentum and create new engines for the high-quality development of the county economy.

“As the business environment of Guidong County continues to improve, it has become a popular place for development,” said Zeng Maolin, head of Qingyouyuan Agricultural Development Company in Qingquan Town.

The company is located in the concentrated processing zone for agricultural products in Qingquan town. It’s a key project introduced by the town government in 2023. The total investment for the first phase of the project is 35 million yuan.

An automated tea processing production line has been installed in the factory of the company. And workers are working hard to inspect and debug equipment to ensure that tea can be processed in a safe and orderly manner soon.

“2024 is a year full of expectations. With the help of relevant departments, the company received a tea order for 200 tons, which marks a good start,” said Zhou Changqing, deputy secretary of the town.

Tea enterprises in the town like Linglong Tea, Master Jiang ICH Handmade Tea and Qingyouyuan lead tea farmers in Qingquan town and surrounding places to strengthen tea industry and achieve a win-win situation for tea enterprises and farmers through the model of “cooperative plus company plus base plus farmer”.

Qiu Faxue introduced that Qingyouyuan can produce 380 tons of tea leaves and 5,000 tons of reed leaves one year, with an estimated annual output value of over 80 million yuan.

In recent years, the town government has worked to build a demonstration zone for regional industrial cooperation in Hunan-Jiangxi border area, strengthened the leading tea industry, innovatively developed the reed leave industry, and actively supported local enterprises to improve quality and efficiency. It has also guided farmers to fully utilize idle land vacated out in rural environmental improvement, developed the under-forest economy, planted more than 3,000 mu (200 hectares) of reed leaves and more than 4,000 mu (about 266.67 hectares) of tea. This aims to enhance overall added values and ensure industrial expansion and increased income for farmers.
