It was reported that Liu Hesheng- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee visited Tongtian jade mine of Tongtianshan, Linwu county on January 27, 2015 to check the development and protection of Tongtian jade. Liu emphasized that sound protection, scientific planning and orderly development should be well carried out to promote the sustainable and healthy development of gem industry.

After three hours drive on the rugged road, Liu Hesheng and his team arrived at Tongtian jade mine. It was introduced that Tongtian jade was formed from the geological movement of Yanshanian which was about 100-200million years ago. It is with some features as cryptocrystalline texture, massive structure, natural transmitting, gentle and fine quality, and etc., which enables it to be a high level raw material for the processing jade products. Currently, the clear and regulation work for mining order has been almost finished in Tongtian jade mine. It is waiting for the identification on reserve, jade quality and some other points which would be carried out by some state and Hunan provincial departments. Once confirmed, it would be proceed to further comprehensive development.

Liu stated on the investigation that gem industry was one of “ten new economic growth points” listed on 2015 economic conference of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee. It was significant for Chenzhou city’s upgrading of mining industry and industrial transformation. The planning and design on general development should be enhanced to further perfect ready planning and carry out reasonable layout of the industry, which was purposely to reach its dislocation and scientific development. Furthermore, the propaganda work should be further reinforced to widely promote the brand of Chenzhou gem.

Liu required that better protection should be enhanced. The detailed protection plan should be figured out on the basis of Tongtian jade and some other gem and crystal resources available in Chenzhou city. The high pressure on “fighting for illegal behaviors” should be always kept to handle protection on the process of development and promote development under sound protection. Better exploration work should be carried out, especially on the gem resources which were with significant exploring value. All reserve, jade quality and some other key information should be figured out to provide better information data for future comprehensive exploration. The strict leadership organ should be set up with specified target, measure, and responsibility system to promote all work orderly.

Liu Hesheng also investigated the regulated rural housing work in Puxia village, Huatang town of Linwu county and required that the regulated rural housing work should be promoted on the basis of local practical condition by learning experience from advance units and fixing local disadvantages. It was purposely to upgrade people’s living condition.
