It was learned from Hunan Development and Reform Commission that Baiyunxian wind-power project of Rucheng County, Chenzhou city was approved by the commission and was expected to be started at the end of 2012. It is the first wind-power station invested by Datang Group in Hunan province.

Baiyunxian, about 1600 meters above the sea level, locates in the juncture of Xiaoyuan town and Jingpo village, Rucheng County. According to relative data, the effective wind speed hours of the Baiyunxian are over 3000 hours and annual wind-power content is over 5 billion kwh. Thanks to that abundant wind-power resource, Rucheng County successfully attracted Datang Group to invest on Baiyunxian wind-power station project. This project, with 453 million yuan investment, is planned to install 49500 kw machines with 24 wind-power generators of 2000kw and 1 generator of 1500kw. Once finished, it would be greatly helpful for Rucheng County to develop the clear resource, optimize the resource structure, increase electricity supply and further improve its tourism.
