Well-arranged farmyards, wide village scenery greening belts, green lands, harvest fruits… That was the picture which reporters witnessed in Shoujietou village, Yizhang county, Chenzhou city, and it was the new image for this village after carrying out the “harmonious and beautiful village” construction.

There are two natural villages of Shijietou with 330 families and 1597 villagers. At the beginning of 2012, the village collected 0.3 million yuan and launched the reconstruction project. Till now, 3 new refuse storage chambers, 2 public toilets, and 1 sewage disposal system have been finished. All of those enabled the village with clean, tidy and sanitary environment.

In Xiangkou natural village, people enjoyed their life in a harmonious atmosphere. In 2012, a new style square, new roads with newly lighting projects, new recreation and sports center, and new leisure parks are well carried out in the village with total investment of 5.75 million yuan. Besides those projects concerned for people’s daily life and spiritual life, the village government spent much more money on its agricultural development, for example, a high standard fertile farmland demonstration zone with more advanced technology was fulfilled in the village. Till now, there have been three planting (cultivation) bases with 1100mu high quality rice and 120mu pollution-free vegetables available in the village.

In recent years, Yiliu town government kept on the investment for construction of new village, till now 120 million yuan has been finished on this construction to forge the harmonious, clean, beautiful and characteristic villagers in the town. If you come to this old revolutionary base area- Yiliu town recently, you will be amazed to see its modern civilized fashion 24 villages of the town completed a rural highway concrete pavement and most of the villages have the high- standard lighted courts with fitness equipment. Furthermore, 107 national road and comprehensive farmer’s market were installed with new street lamps, the central primary school was fulfilled with dormitory buildings, tap water factory was improved to meet people’s increasing demands, and new greening village roads and new gerocomium were built in the town.
