Zixing strives for digital and intelligent future

In 2015, relying on the Dongjiang Lake, a huge natural cold source with a water temperature of 8℃ to 13℃ all the year round, abundant electric power, unique geographic location and excellent ecological environment, Zixing planned and built the Dongjiang Lake Big Data Industrial Park in Dongjiang Bay with an area of 4,500 mu (300 hectares) and a total investment of 50 billion yuan, which can accommodate a data center with 200,000 standard racks and big data industry chain enterprises.
The big data industry is a strategic emerging industry focusing on data generation, collection, storage, processing, analysis and services.
In the past five years, the data center in the park has used the cold water of the Dongjiang Lake as the cooling source of the server all the time. During this period, the standby refrigeration air conditioners have not been started, and the PUE value has been stable below 1.2.
In 2022, the park was approved as the only “big data disaster recovery center in Hunan Province” by the government of Hunan Province. Zixing City’s typical experience and practice of building a “national new data valley” has also been recognized.
The emerging big data industry has become a new engine to activate regional economic development.
Since its operation in 2017, the Cloud Nest Dongjiang Lake Data Center has continuously optimized its services. At present, over 60 enterprises (projects) have settled in the center, including provincial e-government cloud, Changsha government cloud, Chenzhou government cloud, Changsha Bank, Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud and Taobao. Data storage services consist of government affairs, finance and the Internet.
Zixing has formulated a plan to promote the development of the big data industry in the Dongjiang Lake area in 2023, and put forward six major actions like infrastructure construction, establishment of green data centers and extension of the data chain.
In the future, the park will accelerate the progress of project construction and continuously promote the development of digital economy. Relying on the big data industry cluster, it will give full play to the role of digital technology and advance the digital transformation of traditional industries as well as small and medium-sized enterprises.
