On February 5, the construction site of the Phase II of the centralized resettlement site in Xingning Town, Zixing City was a hive of activity, with more than 200 workers wearing safety helmets busy with work.
Jiao Yantao, head of the project, said that in order to enable the victims in the disaster to live in new houses as soon as possible, construction resumed on February 3 for 560 resettlement flats of the centralized resettlement sites in Xingning Town, Zhoumensi Town, and Huangcao Town.
The centralized resettlement site in Xingning Town is the largest in Zixing City. The first phase of the project relocated 200 households before the Spring Festival. The Phase II of the project started construction in November last year, with a total construction area of approximately 54,000 square meters and a planned construction of 23 residential buildings.
The project also has an activity center, basketball court, party and mass service center, as well as medical and commercial facilities. As of now, 20 buildings have been capped and entered the stage of water and electricity installation. The main construction of the remaining 3 buildings will be completed in the middle of this month.
60 flats were delivered before the Spring Festival in the Phase I of the centralized resettlement site in Zhoumensi Town, and 30 flats in the second phase are currently under construction.
The Dongping centralized resettlement site project in Huangcao Town has 80 flats, with all buildings capped in mid-January this year.
560 flats under construction in the three centralized resettlement sites will be completed before the main flood season this year.
