Recently, after a detailed investigation on the scaled professional cooperatives and companies with better economic expectation, Yongxing Forestry Bureau planned to submit the infrastructure construction project of the base of Yongxing Silver Needle Honeysuckle Professional Planting Cooperative to be a provincial sponsored project.

The cooperative was founded in March 2009 with 108 members. Followed with the pollution free and ecological management concepts, more than 500mu demonstration areas have been finished. By combining the honeysuckle planting, processing and marketing, some more economic development ways as wild vine tea planting, poultry cultivation, greening commercial crops, etc. were handled out well, which helped to obtain 5.4 million yuan gross revenue in 2012. The sponsored project mentioned above was mainly for the expansion construction, construction and maintenance of new roads, new warehouse construction, purchasing of machine, and other issues which concerned for the healthy development of the forestry economy. It was estimated to encourage 500 farmer families joined in the project to reach annual sales revenue of over 20 million yuan.

It was introduced that Yongxing county was with 2.02 million mu forest, and 65.55% forest coverage rate. Its total gross value was amounted to 1.53 billion yuan, among which was 86.95 million yuan output value of forestry economy, accounting to 5.7%. A notice named “recommendation on the key provincial forestry economic development county” was released by Hunan Provincial Forest Ministry in this May. Yongxing county took active action on the application work and was successfully enrolled in the first batch list.
