On the morning of March 4, the preparatory work scheduling meeting for the 8th China (Hunan) International Mineral & Gem Expo (CMGE) was held. Liu Zhiren, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, stressed that we should firmly resolve to work together to form a joint force, make overall planning for the preparations for the 8th CMGE, accelerate the transformation and development of the expo, and strive to build the CMGE into a world-class brand exhibition.

At the meeting, the report on the preparation, investment and exhibition invitation of 8th CMGE were listened. Affected by the novel coronavirus pneumonia, the 8th CMGE, scheduled for May, will be postponed. At present, our city is focusing on the prevention and control of the epidemic situation, the preparation of the show, and the promotion of the 8th CMGE in terms of investment invitation and exhibition recruitment. The relevant work is being carried out in an unremitting, orderly and accelerated manner according to the plan.

At the meeting, the heads of relevant departments directly under the municipal government put forward many opinions and suggestions on the preparations for the 8th CMGE. Liu Zhiren pointed out that we should unify our thinking and work together to build a world-class brand; should continue to build the Expo into a world-class brand in accordance with the requirements of "internationalization, specialization, branding, standardization, marketization and industrialization"; should improve the political position, practice the new development concept, drive the transformation and development of relevant industries through the hosting of the Expo, strengthen the communication with the world, connect with the international community, and improve the openness of Chenzhou; should strive to do everything possible to support the preparatory work of the Expo and make it a success.

Liu Zhiren requested that we should strengthen and solve the specific difficulties and problems encountered in the preparatory work; should make an overall plan to postpone the holding of the Expo and determine the holding time scientifically according to the situation of epidemic prevention and control and the situation of business invitation and exhibition; should constantly innovate the working methods and give full support to the Expo in terms of transportation, security, publicity, etc.; should attach great importance to the work of business invitation and exhibition, increase the strength of overseas business invitation and exhibition, do a good job in fine exhibition arrangement and further enrich the content of exhibition arrangement.

Liu Zhiren stressed that it is necessary to strengthen docking and effectively and orderly promote the relevant work of the 8th CMGS. Vice Mayor Zhou Hailin, Xu Licheng, former Vice Chairman of the Municipal Association and Chairman of the Municipal Mining Federation, and Huang Zesheng, Secretary General of the Municipal Government attended the scheduling meeting.
