At the ceremony, 9 projects were signed, including China Railway Group’s rural revitalization project, Drabro Group’s industry transfer project and smart agriculture industrial park, with a total investment of 4.73 billion yuan.

 

Rucheng is the county with the largest minority population and most minority towns in Chenzhou City. There are more than 74,000 people from 35 minorities, such as Yao, She and Dong, 68,000 of whom are Yao people. The county reduced Yao townships from five to the present three in 1991, namely Wenming Yao Town, Yanshou Yao Town and Sanjiangkou Yao Town.

 

In the past 30 years, the three towns have seen earth-shaking changes, where people's life is getting better and better.

 

Among them, Wenming Yao Town has become a red holy land because of the story of “Half A Quilt”. The town has grabbed the opportunity to establish a red tourism scenic area, plant fruits and honeysuckle according to local conditions, leading the villagers towards a well-off road. 

 

In the town, a total of 10,081 people from 3,187 households were lifted out of poverty, 15 villages successfully eliminated poverty, and the poverty incidence dropped from 19.92% to zero.
