The 2024 Torch Science and Technology Achievement Express (Hunan Station) as well as the Chenzhou High-tech Zone Nonferrous Metal New Materials Industry Special Event was held in Chenzhou City on October 29. 65 items of tech demand from 37 enterprises in Chenzhou regarding the design and preparation process of non-ferrous metal materials were released on the site.
The Torch Science and Technology Achievement Express is an important measure to enhance the market-oriented allocation capability of technological elements, improve the synergy between the industrial chain and innovation chain.
Experts and industry leaders from universities, industrial parks, enterprises, and investment and financing institutions engaged in comprehensive and multi-dimensional exchanges and discussions on the forefront and hot issues in the non-ferrous metals field, combined with the development of the non-ferrous metal industry in Chenzhou High-tech Zone.
This year, Hunan has launched more than 200 events such as the matchmaking meetings for universities and high-tech zones, and Hunan Science and Technology Innovation Achievement Roadshow. The province’s technology contract turnover increased by 36.4% year on year, with the commercialization rate in Hunan exceeding 50%.
Chenzhou is known as the “World Nonferrous Metals Museum” and the “Hometown of Nonferrous Metals in China”, with 46 identified mineral reserves. Among them, tungsten and bismuth reserves rank first in the world, and graphite and molybdenum reserves rank first in the country.
Currently, there are more than 140 enterprises engaged in the production and sales of non-ferrous metal new materials in Chenzhou High-tech Zone, including 34 enterprises above designated size and 5 with an output value of over 1 billion yuan each.
Chenzhou makes efforts to cultivate four ten-billion-yuan non-ferrous metal new material industry chains, including deep processing of rare and precious metals, hard alloy new material, lithium-ion batteries new material, and deep processing of copper materials.
In 2023, the non-ferrous metal new material industry achieved the operating revenue of 26.5 billion yuan, an increase of 17.5%, and it was rated as a national innovative industrial cluster.
At the event, a group of non-ferrous metal enterprises in Chenzhou signed cooperation agreements with Central South University, National Engineering Research Center for Advanced Energy Storage Materials and other scientific research institutes on the research of tungsten tin enhanced enrichment and recovery technology, and the research and development of biological leaching and recovery technology of rare and precious metals.
