Qianjiaan Village, located in the south of Changcun Township of Yizhang County, Chenzhou City, 5 kilometers away from 107 National Highway and 38 kilometers away from the county town, was built in Yongle, Ming Dynasty (1405 A.D.) with a history of more than 600 years. Qianjiaan Village has 8 natural villages and 18 villager groups, with a total population of 2280 and a total area of 9600 mu.
In 2008, it was named "Provincial Ecological Demonstration Village" and successfully declared as "Provincial Traditional Village" in 2015. In November 2016, Qianjiaan Village was listed in the fourth batch of publicity lists of traditional Chinese villages by the Ministry of Housing, Urban and Rural Construction and other departments.
In Qianjiaan Village, there are some representative buildings: Gongyuan Ancestral Temple, Zagong Ancestral Temple, Langgong Ancestral Temple, ancient gate building and Yongfeng Temple. More than 80 ancient dwellings in Ming and Qing Dynasties have been well preserved up to now, and there are 6 pairs of stone pillars recorded in ancient times. The dwellings are all green brick and green tile two-storey brick-and-wood structures with different forms of horsehead walls on hard hilltops, windproof walls and vertical ridge walls. Most of the lintels and panes are carved with exquisite figures, caterpillars and flowers, known as "Aiding by loyalty and filial piety, reciting poetry and books". The roadways in the village are connected and the bluestones are paved with more scientific drainage system.
