Recently, the Provincial Department of Culture announced the first batch of "classic culture villages and towns" in Hunan Province, including the Aoshang Village in Suxian District, Banliang Village in Yongxing County, Yonglejiang Town in Anren County, Waisha Village and Jinshan Village in Rucheng County and Shatian Town in Guidong County.

The selection of "classic culture villages and towns" aims at mining and protecting a number of villages and towns with history and culture, and striving to get the new breakthrough and progress in consolidating grassroots culture, inheriting and developing the outstanding traditional culture, inheriting and carrying forward the revolutionary culture, building an advanced socialist culture and other aspects through the key inputs and key work to promote the people in the cultural villages and towns out of poverty.
