Located in the southeast of Hunan Province, Zixing City is a new industrial city, eco-tourism city and open charm city. Dongjiang Lake in the city has a water storage capacity of 8.12 billion cubic meters and a water surface area of 160 square kilometers. It is an important ecological barrier and strategic water source in Hunan Province. Zixing City has deeply practiced the development concept of "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", adhered to the "ecological city" and taken the road of green development. All previous municipal Party committees and governments have regarded protecting the clear water of a lake as the greatest achievement. They have made great efforts to promote the "No. 1 Project" of Dongjiang lake protection, so as to ensure that the overall water quality maintains the first class national drinking water standard for a long time, and the surface water standard for outbound water for a long time. In November 2019, Zixing City was named by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment as the third batch of "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" practice and innovation bases in China, which is the first "two mountains" practice and innovation base in Hunan Province.
