Patients only need one doctor’s appointment within 3 days

2021-05-31

The First People’s Hospital of Chenzhou City rolled out the service that a patient can no longer make another appointment for the same department if they need to revisit a doctor for checking the results of medical examinations within three days since his first appointment and visit.

Tang Jianxiang, who has cardiovascular disease, has to pay many visits to doctors. Every time he makes an appointment for medical examinations, because some of the medical reports cannot be available until the next day, he has to make another appointment, which is rather tiresome and costly.

This is the case not only in Chenzhou but even across the country. Although this practice is normal and within the rules, it brings much inconvenience to patients.

Accordingly, Chenzhou City Health Commission has taken some measures to benefit the people, such as one appointment for diagnosis and treatment, joint multidisciplinary clinic, better services for elderly patients visiting a doctor and expert teams providing service at primary-level communities.

This service was first carried out at the First People’s Hospital of Chenzhou City on May 27 and will be available in other hospitals from June 1.

According to an official of Health Commission of Chenzhou, patients only need to make one appointment for the whole process of medical service from seeing a doctor, making medical examinations and picking up drugs in the city's public hospitals in the future. And for those who need to revisit a doctor with their medical reports can directly go to see a doctor under the guidance of responsible nurses or working staff without the need to making another appointment.
