Attentions Paid in Train-taking

2016-04-25

Pay attention to the following things when taking a train:

(1) Ticket purchasing

If you are unable to get a ticket but hurry to catch the train, you can get on the train first and buy the ticket later on the train. An excess fare will be charged if you buy the ticket on this condition. If you get on the train without punching the ticket, you have to pay an extra inspection fee when the conductor checks tickets on the train.

(2) Validity of the ticket

The validity of the ticket is calculated according to traveling mileage. It is valid in two days within 300km. If the mileage is more than 301km, for the additional part, one day will be added for every 500km, including the part less than 500km. If the passenger takes the train in advance with a changed passenger ticket or fast extra ticket, the validity dates from the actual traveling day; in the case of a changed ticket, the validity is calculated in accordance with the original ticket date. If the passenger cannot catch the train due to illness, the validity can be extended based on the actual medical care date—but not longer than 10 days, on condition that he shows the medial certificate or it is confirmed by the station during the validity of the passenger ticket or fast extra ticket. When he travels after recovery, the validity is calculated in terms of the remaining valid time of the original ticket. The passenger cannot extend the validity of a berth ticket but can refund it.

(3) Ticket visa

If the passenger cannot take the train at the time as specified on the ticket, he can change the ticket to shift to an earlier time or put it off for one time no later than two hours before the train leaves, on condition that he does not extend the validity of the passenger ticket or fast extra ticket and the relevant country is able to deal with it. This does not apply to berth tickets. When transferring or resuming traveling after getting off midway, the passenger should transact visa, whatever train he takes.

(4) Luggage

Passengers can take some luggage for free within a weight limit, 20kg for adults and 10kg for children. The length and volume of the luggage should be suitable to put on the luggage rack or under the seat. Flammable, explosive, dangerous goods and articles that harm public health and pollute the train are not allowed.

(5) Warning against theft

Take care of your own luggage.

(6) Complaining methods when meeting problems

Which department should people complain to when they travel by train and meet problems? When complaining about a station, make clear which railway branch it belongs to. The railway branch sets an office in charge of working manners and a passenger sub-office, so the passengers can call or write to complain to them, or complain to the Consumer's Association and Price Control Department of Industry and Commercial Bureau of the city or county.
