It was learned from Hunan Government’s executive meeting held on February 10, 2015 that the third China (Hunan) International Mineral & Gem Show (short for the third mineral show) would be held in Chenzhou city from May 21- May 25, 2015. Chenzhou city is the exclusive host city for the third mineral expo. One expo can only be with one exhibition place. The situation for one expo but two exhibition places (Changsha expo, Chenzhou expo) is not acceptable. Except Chenzhou city, no other city can hold the expo of the same kind. The relative departments and units of Hunan Government can’t provide custom clearance, inspection and quarantine and exhibition place for the city which hold the expo of the same kind.

It was stated on the meeting that Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Hunan Government placed highly attention on the mineral expo which would be held in Hunan province. It was hard to obtain the opportunity to hold the expo, so all departments should well treasure the chance. It was significant for Hunan province to popularize the special brand of “the county of non-ferrous metals of China”, upgrade international fame of Hunan Province and promote Hunan economic development by holding the mineral expo.

As considered by the conference, Chenzhou city is with unique advantages on holding the mineral expo: Chenzhou which is famous as“the world’s museum of non-ferrous metals”and“city of mineral crystal” is not just with abundant non-ferrous metals resources, but with abundant gem and mineral crystal resources as well; Chenzhou is with the traditional foundation of mineral and gem collection among people; Chenzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center is the exhibition center with largest scale and best function in Hunan province under current condition, and series high-end star level hotels are capable to provide high quality level reception service for the expo; and Chenzhou is near Guangdong, HK and Macau where are with developed mineral and gem industry, so Chenzhou should promote the development of its local mineral and gem industry by holding the mineral expo.
