From May 21 to May 25, 2015, a world level mineral and gem show which gathers mineral crystals, gems, fossils, meteorolites, and etc. would open to in Chenzhou city, Hunan province.
Hunan province enjoys exceptional advantages and abundant treasures.

South of the great lake where is with 210,000 square kilo meters contains another especially magnificent “Hunan”.

“County of non-ferrous metals”and“county of nonmetallic ore” which are famous worldwide are the faces of Hunan province.

Abundant mineral crystal reserves, 22 geological parks, over 140 proved minerals, tens of famous mineral crystal mines, and etc. are the inherences of Hunan.

Chenzhou city where is located in the south of Hunan province is the most concentrated and typical mineral resource nesting zone.

Chenzhou city is located in multimetal metallogenic belt of Nanling mountain, which grants it with abundant mineral resources. Due to various minerals, large reserves, wide distribution, good quality and some other features of its mineral resources, Chenzhou city is famous as “the world’s museum of non-ferrous metals” and“decoration stone and mineral crystal city of China”.

Currently, 112 kinds of minerals and 150 mines were discovered in Chenzhou city. 46 minerals’ reserves were approved, including some advantageous minerals as wolfram, molybdenum, bismuth, tin, lead, zinc, graphite, coal, fluorite, and etc. The reserves of wolfram and bismuth are ranked the first place of the work, while the reserves of molybdenum, tin and zinc are ranked the first place, second place and forth place of China. The reserve of microcrystalline graphite covers 70% of the world, while the reserve of associated fluorite covers 50% of China.

Just as people said, just digging a mine in Chenzhou city, there would be natural treasures of eons of time.

Thanks to the unique geological condition and abundant mineral resources, Chenzhou city is rich in different kinds of mineral crystals and decorative minerals. It is the largest origin of mineral crystal of China. Currently, the reserve of minable mineral crystal is amounted to 1.32million cubic meters. Wolfram, tin, bismuth, lead, zinc, bronze and some other non-ferrous metals mineral crystals, and calcite, fluorite, crystal, dolomite and other symbiotic and concomitant non-metal mineral crystals are most prominent. Hsianghualite, calcite, Tongtian jade, rainbowstone and others are the most special ones.

In the press conference held for the mineral show, Qu Hai- Mayor of Chenzhou City highly promoted Chenzhou city’s “national treasure”- hsianghualite to all the journalists from domestic and abroad. As introduced by Qu, hsianghualite is mainly distributed in tin mining are of Xianghualing, Linwu county, Chenzhou city. It is symbiotic with fluorite, bromellite, taaffeite, tinstone, scheelite, and etc. It is a unique new mineral crystal of the world, so it is honored as “national treasure”.

The god-given treasures need to be operated diligently.

In recent years, based on the advantages of abundant mineral crystal resources, Chenzhou city tried great efforts on transferring the resource advantages to be industrial advantages, and cultivated decoration stone industry to be a key point of cultural tourism industry. “Chenzhou Rare Stone Musuem”, “Chenzhou Stone Park” and“street of rare stones”are built in the center of Chenzhou city. It placed great supports on the healthy development of decoration stone industry along with promoting Chenzhou city’s culture name brand of “mineral crystal city of China”. Now, over 200,000 people got involved into the decoration stone industry. Chenzhou city became a good choice for the scientific research and collectors of mineral gems.
Yi Pengfei- Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee stated that it is “a show held in shaft head”. Chenzhou city would present a feast of mineral gems and a feast of Chinese-western cultural communication by holding this mineral show.

It was reported that the first batch of overseas gems were delivered to Chenzhou city on April 30, 2015.
