On September 13, 2012, the first travel ceremony of Hunan Baoshan National Mining Park was grandly held, which started the journey to the center of the earth. It is the exclusive mining theme park in Hunan province under current situation.

The park covers 7.8 square kilometers,among which 1.48 square kilometers are core scenic areas. The total investment for this park was about 470 million yuan. Now, “one center and seven zones” are set in the park. One center refers to the service reception center, and seven zones refer to the following sceneries: underground exploration, strip mining, mining and metallurgy expo, Zilong training camp, viewing deck (mining), mine cultural park, and selection engineering visit. The rare strip mining, advanced vertical shaft, fortune venue, colorful malachite, clear ice crystal, excited underground exploration, 3D film, ancient caves, etc. can all be enjoyed freely in the mining park.

Baoshan mine has been one of the important mines for the government from Han dynasty.
