At the full heading stage of early rice in Lunar May every year, villagers would invite artists to perform on the stage (puppet show, shadow show, festival lantern, etc), and it served as a way of their prey to god-blessing and grain harvest. Since 1950s, government has been popularizing scientific ways of rice cultivation, which emphasizes the timing and the use of fertilizers. Nowadays, local people still enjoy the performance of artists on special occasions, but it remains for entertainment only.
