A legend goes like this: During the period of Three Kingdoms (A.D. 220--280), General Zhao Zilong, a famous general in Shu Kingedom, used strategy to capture Guiyang County. The local people marinated pork skin and streaky pork with ipomoea pepper, a local speciality, and presented the skin and park to General Zhao Zilong to eat when drinking the wine, who loved them very much. Therefore, diced pork in pot has got its name and remains popular until today.
