Laughing and talking merrily, visitors were busy catching the fish in the golden rice fields 800 meters above the sea level at Cailing Village, Suxian District, Chenzhou city, while several local web celebrities popular on TikTok were promoting the local Hehua fish (also called black carp, which is originated in Guilin city of Guangxi Province and mainly grows in the mountainous areas of southern China) on September 8.

The promotion meeting of Rural Revitalization and leisure culture & the 7th Hehua fish and rice harvest festival was held here that day. Suxian District culture, tourism, radio, television and Sports Bureau and Suxian District Culture Museum organized a performance team to provide rich and colorful cultural programs to the masses.
After watching the wonderful performances, the tourists went to the rice fields to catch fish, enjoying the harvest of Hehua fish in the mountains together with the local villagers.
The village has led the villagers to develop fish farming, which has a long history in the village, as a pillar industry for rural revitalization in the future, vigorously promoted the cultural tourism and the integration of agriculture and tourism.
The fish farming area of the village is more than 1,000 mu (about 66.67 hectares), bringing an average income increase of 3,000 yuan per household. The festival that has been held for seven consecutive times has effectively promoted rural tourism and driven the sales of local agricultural and sideline products.
