Bianjiang River served as the most convenient waterway from the ancient Central Plains to Lingnan. It is home to stunning natural scenery and features a unique Danxia landform.

 

Many prominent figures, including Zhang Jiuling, Han Yu, Liu Yuxi during the Tang Dynasty and Zhou Dunyi, Qin Guan, and Yue Fei during the Song Dynasty, created poems, calligraphy works and paintings for the river when they passed by boat.
